KATHARINE LIBRETTO
Katharine's work is existential and spiritual, her images and titles provide a narrative about time, stories between humans and environment, and reimagines the sublime and beauty found in the natural world. Her practice explores a deconstructed method to silk screen printing which is experimental and can be similar to a painter in a studio, where her prints evolve with each layer and her manipulation of the flat substrate adds illusion, texture and areas of depth and complexity to each piece. Her preliminary artwork for the print is created with a combination of painted, drawn, and digital layers, mixing tools to create a cross-disciplinary approach, combining both fine arts and graphic design. Katharine received her BFA degree in Graphic Design, at C.W. Post College/Long Island University, and her MA degree, in printmaking, at Camberwell College of Art in London. Her works have been exhibited in Europe, Hong Kong and the United States.
